To drive awareness and educate sellers on the benefits of Square's suits of cash flow tools, House of Greenland produced a '45 sec video, translated for French and English speakers, to support Square's storytelling across their organic channels.

Concept Development

For the initial concept development, we paired minimalistic renditions of Square's current UI with smooth animations; all while allowing small businesses to take centre stage. We also used Square's logo as a framing device, exploring the use of rounded corners as a mask and as a wider use case for Square's graphic identity to inform how they market their product. 

As the copy begun to take shape, we started focusing on exploring ways of translating specific features visually. At this point, we begin to see the use of a more transparent frame emerging. Later on, with direction from Square, UI elements were given a glassmorphism effect; embuing a sharper and more modern shape to Square's use of UI.

The most significant challenge was getting the UI and animation through, with just the right amount of information. Here we see how our initial UI development and animation have been stitched and composited with film, to create a seamless experience of the short.
